McAfee Antivirus Review

McAfee has been in the antivirus industry for quite a while. The company was founded in 1988. It is known for its firewalls, antispam products, encryption of files and public key infrastructure. It is best known, however, for its anti-virus product and has a stronghold on the market. Security suites that it offers provide complete protection against viruses and malware and are backed with a $1,000,000 guarantee against identity theft.

All of McAfee’s plans include a full-featured malware scanner that will block the entry of malware into your computer system and kill or block those malware that have already penetrated it. The real-time protection engine of McAfee blocks malware-related files from downloading. It also reroutes and decrypts data to ensure that your online activities cannot be intercepted and used against you.

McAfee scored consistently high in our tests for both the AV-Test 0-day test, as well as our malware protection test. Also, it passed our privacy tests, scoring 100% in all of the categories.

The interface of the suite is easy to use and clean. It’s a little difficult to access features such www.swiftvpnapp.com/avast-anti-track-premium-license-key-2021 as parental controls or identity theft protections. They’re siloed into separate menus on the dashboard. Support isn’t easy to get. The McAfee Community Forum is active, but Techmaster Concierge will be required to help users with more complex issues.

McAfee’s system scanner did not remove a few junk files from our test systems. It also fails to provide a way to drag and drop a folder or a file into the suite for scanning like many of its competitors do. This is a major no-no for a security suite of this price.
